reinstate bulk pickup in the county

Picture
To: County Executive Johnny Olszewski, members of the County Council, and members of the Solid Waste Work Group:

Illegal dumping has significantly increased in our county, from Hawthorne to Violetville.

Other Maryland counties, such as Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Prince George's, Howard, Calvert, Wicomico, Worchester, & Baltimore City, and numerous municipalities throughout the state offer their residents bulk pick up at no or low cost and without tax increases.

We, residents of Baltimore County, believe free, quarterly bulk pickup MUST be part of the counties 10-year solid waste management plan in order to mitigate this problem which is expected to exponentially increase in the future, and we believe this service must be in place by the end of 2021.

Not all residents have the capacity or ability to take large refuse to solid waste drop off centers. We believe it's the duty of local government to facilitate clean and healthy environments for all those who live and work in Baltimore County, and offering bulk pick up is essential to accomplishing this.
